Down 2¬–1, senior Dylan Perez tied the game on a sacrifice fly. After Oswego intentionally walked sophomore David Ahonen, junior T.J. Abone made them pay as he drove in two runs on a single. Abone scored the team’s fifth and final run on a throwing error by the Lakers’ catcher.
Sophomore Aaron Sapp made the start for the Bombers and allowed one run on five hits through five innings, earning a no-decision. Sophomore Dan Lynch came in and threw two innings in relief, allowing one run on one hit with three strikeouts to earn the victory. Both of the Lakers’ runs were unearned.
Freshman Jackson Quinn pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in his collegiate debut.
The South Hill squad continues its four-game road trip at SUNY-Brockport at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
