Bombers' bats overpower Oneonta

After ending its four-game win streak in a loss Sunday, the baseball team made a quick turnaround with a 15–14 victory of SUNY-Oneonta yesterday in Oneonta, N.Y.

The Blue and Gold rallied for a season-high 21 hits in the game, with every starter getting at least one hit and six with multi-hit games.

Senior Kurt Bednarcyk led the way for the Bombers going 4-for-6 with four runs scored. Freshman Trevor Wolf had a career-best four hits and four RBIs on the day.

The Bombers blew a 7–3 and 10–8 lead at different points in the game and had to face a 14–10 deficit late in the game. They managed to scrape together four runs in the seventh to tie the game at 14.

Sophomore Dan Lynch got the start and struggled through four innings. He allowed six runs on seven hits, but only three of the runs were earned. The Bombers made two errors in the third that led to three runs.

Freshman Tucker Healy earned the win and improved to 2–0 on the season after tossing the final 1 1/3 innings. The Red Dragons were hitless and scoreless while Healy was in the game.

The Bombers finished their road trip with a 3–1 record. They return home to face St. Lawrence College at 4:30 p.m. today at Freeman Field.
