Ithaca College’s Tower Club will close in May because of the unstable economy and a decrease in customer base. Located on the 14th floor of East Tower, the club will close Monday, May 18, the day after Commencement. In the 1960s, the club was originally privatized for the use of the college’s faculty and staff. During the past two decades, the club has been open to the public. Since 2000, the club has been open for lunch Monday through Friday and for special events.
The closing will eliminate five full-time positions in Dining Services, according to a press release. Dining Services will work with remaining employees to arrange employment in other positions across campus.
Check back later in the day for more updates.
