Bombers fall to Washington and Jefferson

The field hockey
team lost 4–2 yesterday at Washington and Jefferson College in its Empire 8
opener. The Bombers rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second half, but the
Presidents scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the game to earn the win.
Junior forward Katherine Brown scored Ithaca’s first goal in the 41st minute off of an assist from freshman forward Abbey Lind. Freshman midfielder Tracy Rivas tied the score 2–2, assisted by sophomore midfielder JulieAnne Butare.
Senior goalkeeper Courtney Dowell made five saves.
The Bombers play their next game at 1 p.m. Sunday at the College of Wooster.
