The golf team finished fourth this weekend at the William Smith Golf Invitational held at Clifton Springs Country Club.

After finishing the first round tied for second with St. John Fisher College, significant rains on the course’s greens forced Sunday’s second round to be shortened to nine-holes. Ithaca’s two-day total of 605 finished fourth in a field of five teams.

Freshman Brooke Llobell backed up her team-best 91 on Saturday with a 46 in the final round for a two-day total of 141. Llobell finished fifth best among individual scores at the tournament.

Junior Christie O’Shea and freshman Samantha Liberty shot solid rounds of 150 and 154, respectively, for the tournament.

Nazareth College won the Invitational with a combined two-day score of 549.

Ithaca returns to play Saturday at the Cortland Fall Invitational hosted by SUNY-Cortland at Cortland Country Club.
