The men’s basketball team lost to Nazareth College in overtime in the semifinals of the Empire 8 tournament by a score of 75–72.

The loss marked the second consecutive year the Bombers lost in the first round of the tournament to rival Nazareth.

With 44 seconds left in the game, Nazareth took a 70–69 lead. The Golden Flyers then made three straight free throws to go up by four before junior Chris Cruz-Rivas pulled the Bombers to within one with 12 seconds left on the clock with a three-pointer.

The Bombers were forced to foul and Nazareth nailed both free throws. With one chance left, the Blue and Gold missed a game-tying three-pointer.

Despite the loss, all five starters hit double figures in scoring. Junior Phil Barera and freshman Sean Rossi picked up double-doubles. Barera scored 11 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while Rossi also scored 11 and dished out 11 assists.
