The men’s crew defeated Colgate University on Saturday in the varsity 8. They finished with a time of 5:57.

Colgate won the second varsity 8 in 6:18, with Ithaca’s second varsity 8 and third varsity boat following. The varsity 4 and second varsity 4 were won by Colgate, while Ithaca took third place behind their B team.

The varsity 8 included junior coxswain Annie Bova, junior stroke Eric Hojnowski, senior seventh seat Jeff Doherty, senior sixth seat Tom Poole, senior fifth seat Brad Andrews, senior fourth seat Steve Garfinkel, junior third seat Julian Halfmann, senior second seat Manny Delgado and sophomore bow Pete Orlando.

The second varsity 8 was made up of sophomore coxswain Clint Weigl, senior stroke Ryan Bolchacki, sophomore seventh seat Mike Warner, freshman sixth seat Nick Alvarez, freshman fifth seat Chris Lisee, sophomore fourth seat Jerimiah Saroff, sophomore third seat Mike Ferrid, freshman second seat Brian Erickson and freshman Kelly Halpin.

The next meet for the men’s crew will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cayuga Lake against five other schools.
