The men’s crew won two out of five races Saturday, taking first in the novice 8 and second varsity/second novice combined 8 races.
They defeated the University of Rochester and the Rochester Institute of Technology after the start of the races was delayed because of ice in the water.
The Bombers finished second in the varsity 8 with a time of 6:14.5, right behind R.I.T., who finished with a time of 6:13.0. Ithaca also came in second behind R.I.T. in the second varsity 8 race.
Ithaca finally won its first race in the second varsity 8/second novice 8 combined race. They beat Rochester by about 20 seconds with a time of 7:33.9.
The next meet for the men’s crew will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cayuga Lake against Skidmore College, SUNY-Oswego, St. Lawrence University and Hamilton College.
