Blue and Gold beat Nazareth, 10–5

The men’s lacrosse team defeated Nazareth College 10–5 April, 11 in Rochester, N.Y.

Then ranked No. 7, Ithaca got out shot 33–15 over the second and third quarters. However, the Blue and Gold outscored the Golden Flyers 8–2 in those two quarters.

Junior attackman/midfielder Nic Heckman was the star player for the South Hill squad in the game, recording a career high four goals and five points. Other scorers for the Bombers included senior attackman Kevin Bush and junior midfielder Nick Neuman. Both players had a goal and an assist.

Not only was Ithaca solid on offense, but defense as well. The Bombers forced a college record 21 turnovers and senior defenseman and tri-captain Neth Wiedemann scooped up seven ground balls, matching a career high. Sophomore goalie David Gal made an impressive 18 saves in net. That was the fifth game he finished with at least 15 saves.

The win improved the Bombers record to 11–1 overall and 4–1 in the Empire 8.
