The Bombers were outplayed in all aspects of the match against Hobart, but were able to remain confident heading into Saturday’s matchup with Utica.
Prior to the match with Hobart, Head Coach Andy Byrne replaced junior goalkeeper Justin Parlapiano with sophomore goalkeeper Evan Kirshner.
Kirshner’s first career start was a disappointing one as he allowed three goals, but tallied a career-high eight saves in the match.
In the following game against Utica, he allowed one goal, giving the Blue and Gold an opportunity to end their winless streak.
Junior forward Fernando Casanova scored the game tying and game winning goals within 20 seconds of each other in the 84th minute to give the Bombers their first victory since Sept. 26.
The Bombers are currently in fourth place in the Empire 8 with a conference record of 2–2–1.
The Blue and Gold return to action against Stevens Institute of Technology at 6 p.m. Saturday.
