Seniors Brant Gawrys and Ryan Wright and freshmen Antoine Connors and Jeff Rapp combined to place first in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet. The swimmers also earned three individual first-place finishes for the Blue and Gold. Gawrys claimed first in the 100-yard breaststroke, Wright placed first in the 100-yard butterfly and Connors clinched first in the 50-yard freestyle.
Sophomore Joe Gage collected three individual victories for the Bombers, placing first in the 100-, 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. Junior Matt Carolan also placed first in the 200-yard butterfly for the South Hill squad.
Senior Mike Ariel, sophomore Steve Croucher, Connors and Gage won the 400-yard freestyle relay to secure the win for the Blue and Gold.
The Bomber divers swept Rochester in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, placing first, second and third for both springboard heights. Sophomore Mike Glicini placed first in the 3-meter contest and freshman Derek Rand won the 1-meter event.
The South Hill squad’s next meet is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Le Moyne College.
