Blue and Gold snap four-match losing streak

The men’s tennis team swept Alfred University 9–0 on Wednesday. The win improved Ithaca’s record to 5–12 on the season and 3–1 in the Empire 8.

The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for the Blue and Gold.

Senior Joe Young, junior Jeff Buffum, sophomores Seth Magnani, Andrew Dunnick and Zach Baum, and freshman Danny Wolk were all victorious in singles competition. In doubles, the teams of Young and Wolk; Buffum and Dunnick; and Baum and Magnani were all winners.

With only one match remaining in the regular season, the Bombers are looking to build momentum heading into the Empire 8 championship tournament.

The next match for the men’s tennis team will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Oneonta, N.Y., against Hartwick College.
