The men’s tennis team dropped its fourth consecutive match Thursday, falling to Hobart College 6–3. The loss leaves Ithaca at 4–12 overall (2–1 E8) on the season.

Senior Colin Flynn and freshman Taylor Borda were victorious at first and second singles, respectively. Junior Jeff Buffum, sophomore Zach Baum and freshmen Liam Berkowitz and Danny Wolk all lost in singles competition.

In doubles, the tandem of Flynn and Borda was victorious, earning the Bombers’ third and final team point. The teams of Wolk and Berkowitz and Buffum and sophomore Andrew Dunnick came up short in their matches.

With only two matches left before the Empire 8 championship tournament, the Blue and Gold will need to get better performances out of their young players. For the first time ever, the winner of the Empire 8 receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The next match for the men’s tennis team will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Alfred, N.Y., against Alfred University.
