The men’s tennis team won its 10th match of the season today, defeating Hartwick College 9–0. It was the Bombers’ sixth Empire 8 win of the season, earning them the second seed in the conference tournament.
Senior Jeff Buffum won both his singles and doubles matches in his last career home match. The wins gave Buffum his 70th and 71st victories of his career, respectively, making him the ninth player in program history to win at least 70 matches.
Freshman Josh Rifkin was also dominant in his performance, winning his singles match in straight sets (6–0, 6–0) and teaming with classmate Alex Stoler to take the second doubles match 8–2.
Sophomores Taylor Borda, Danny Wolk, and Liam Berkowitz also picked up singles and doubles wins for the Bombers.
The final regular match for the men’s tennis team will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Utica College.
