The men’s tennis team ended its regular season with a 5–4 loss to St. Lawrence University on Friday. The match came down to the third set of the sixth singles match, when freshman Dan Levine had to concede the point because of an injury.

Junior Taylor Borda fell in first singles 6–1, 6–1, while sophomore Josh Rifkin finished strong remaining undefeated, winning 6–3, 6–1. Freshman Jimmy Newton also won in straight sets 6–3, 6–4 and junior Danny Wolk played to a tiebreak before falling 6–3, 7–6 (7–4). Freshmen Mike Muraco dropped his match 6–1, 1–0, while Levine wrapped up the match by default because of his injury.

The Bombers took two of three doubles matches with Borda and Rikfin dropping first doubles 8–6, but Newton and Wolk looked strong – winning 8–1 in second doubles. Senior co-captain Andrew Dunnick finished his last home match with a win, fighting to a 9–7 win alongside Muraco.

The next action for the South Hill squad is May 2 in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament in Pittsford, N.Y. With an undefeated 8–0 conference record, the team has earned the top seed and will face Hartwick College in the first round of competition.
