The South Hill squad entered the match ranked 16th in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The second doubles tandem made up of sophomore Jimmy Newton and senior Danny Wolk were the first off the court winning 8–4. Senior Taylor Borda and junior Josh Rifkin maintained their dominance at first doubles winning their 20th doubles match of the year remaining undefeated on the season.
Borda, who was named the Empire 8 Player of the Week on Monday, won handily in singles play 6–2, 6–0.
Perhaps the most exciting match of the afternoon was at sixth singles where sophomore Dan Levine narrowly lost 11–9 in the third set.
With the victory, the Bombers improve to 11–2 overall and remain undefeated in Empire 8 play with a record of 4–0. The Blue and Gold continue conference play at 4 p.m. Tuesday when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. to take on Rochester Institute of Technology.
