The men’s track and field team traveled to Middletown, Conn., on Saturday to compete in the ECAC Championships at Wesleyan University. The Bombers finished tied for 50th out of 53 teams.
The highlight of the day came from sophomore distance runner Tim Shea. Shea finished 10th of 31in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:55.78. Sophomore Michael Wodarski placed 12th out of 22 runners in the 55-meter hurdle preliminaries, finishing with a time of 8.11.
Freshman pole-vaulter Andrew Brown finished in a five-way tie for 13th with his height of 4.28 meters. Senior Steve Desmond placed 16th out of 20 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.73. Sophomore Cory Petermann was able to place in the pentathlon, finishing 14th overall.
The distance medley team finished seventh of 16 teams with a time of 10:32.34. The 4x800 relay team finished 14th out of 18 with a time of 8:10.08.
The next meet for the
men’s track and field team will take place Friday in Terre Haute, Ind., at the
NCAA Championships hosted by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
