| Staff Writer

At Moravian College’s Greyhound Invitational on Saturday, the men’s track and field team had four athletes qualify for ECACs.

Sophomore Michael Wodarski qualified in two events. He finished fifth overall in the 110-meter hurdles and ninth in the 400-meter hurdles. Sophomores Tim Shea and Cory Petermann both qualified in their events. Shea took third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Petermann notched a sixth-place finish in the javelin.

The Bombers also had quite a few athletes that were very close to qualifying. Freshman Curt Bell was 0.41 seconds from qualifying in the 1,500-meter run with his third-place finish. In addition, freshman Andrew Brown was 0.5 meters from qualifying in the pole vault, as was junior James Aucoin in the long jump.

In the throwing events, senior Brian Branning finished in the top 10 in both the hammer throw and the discus. Junior Jeremy Walck finished 16th in the shot put, but was the top finisher for the Bombers.

The next meet for the men's track and field team will take place at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Butterfield Stadium in the Ithaca Tri-Meet.
