Video: Inch by inch
|
Strands
of hair covered the floor of the North Foyer on Monday as students,
faculty and staff donated their locks to Hillel's annual Inch-a-thon.
Some volunteered to donate eight to 10 inches of their hair for free, bound in ponytails of black, brown or blonde, to Locks for Love and Zichron Menachem of Israel, which use both donated hair to make wigs for cancer patients -- many of whom are children.
Those without much hair to give donated $10 for a trim and counted each dollar as an "inch" of hair toward both organizations.
