Doctor to speak about trip to Gaza

Dr. Ismail Mehr, an anesthesiologist for St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, N.Y., traveled to Gaza in January 2009 to give aid to its citizens following attacks on the city. Mehr will be speaking and showing slides from his trip to Gaza from 8 to 9:30 p.m. tonight in Textor 101.
The event is sponsored by Ithaca College’s Students for Justice in Palestine.
Mehr led a team of 12 doctors from the American Medical Mission to Gaza for 10 days in January. The trip was sponsored by the Islamic Medical Association of North America, an organization of which Mehr is a member.
