Steven Mauk, professor of music performance at Ithaca College, has been named acting dean of the School of Music.
Mauk will be stepping in to fill the dean position while Gregory Woodward, the current dean, serves as interim provost of the college. Woodward's appointment as interim provost came two weeks after President Tom Rochon announced current provost Kathleen Rountree would resign from her position to take up a faculty post in the School of Music.
Both Mauk and Woodward will begin their new responsibilities June 1.
Mauk previously served as chair of the graduate programs in music and the department of performance studies and has been a professor in the School of Music since 1975.
