Squad takes fourth at St. Lawrence

The women’s cross country team placed fourth out of 15 teams Saturday at the Ronald C. Hoffman Invitational at St. Lawrence University.
Led by senior co-captain Lindsey Nadolski, who finished fifth overall with a time of 22:21, the Blue and Gold had a strong performance with five runners finishing within the top 35 in a field of 189.

Rounding out the top five were 21st place finisher junior Melanie McCormick with a time of 23:32 and 22nd place finisher freshman Heidi Baumbach with a time of 23:38. Junior Amanda Boccio and sophomore Catherine Ortiz finished in 26th and 33rd respectively for the Bombers.
This was the first time the team did not finish in first place this season, finishing with a total of 95 points. First place finisher SUNY-Geneseo totaled 60. SUNY-Cortland finished second with 76, while third place finisher host St. Lawrence totaled 79.
The next meet for the South Hill squad will be at 1:40 p.m. Saturday at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
