The women’s cross country team cruised to their sixth straight Empire 8 title at the Saratoga Invitational. The victory extends the Bombers streak as Empire 8 Champions, having won the conference championship since the Empire 8 added women’s cross country in 2003.

Senior co-captain Lindsey Nadolski led the Bombers, finishing third overall and first within the conference. Nadolski’s time of 17:44 earned her consecutive Empire 8 individual titles. Junior Melanie McCormick finished as the runner-up in the conference with a time of 18:31.

Other notable finishes for the Blue and Gold included freshman Heidi Baumbach who finished with a time of 18:48, good enough for fourth in the conference and 22nd overall. Senior Kasey Currier finished sixth in the Empire 8 and 26th overall in 18:57, while junior Amanda Boccio rounded out the Bombers top-five finishers, with a time of 19:01, finishing eighth in the conference and 31st overall.

The South Hill squad finished second at the meet with a team total of 89 points, finishing behind only St. Lawrence University. The Bombers finished 158 points ahead of the closest conference competitor.

The Blue and Gold also sent four runners to East Hill to compete in the John Reif Memorial Classic at Cornell University.

Sophomores Kristen Olson and Krissy Majkowski were the Bombers top finishers with times of 23:14 and 23:20, respectively.

The Bombers will resume competition Nov. 8th at the NYSCTC championship at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.
