The Bombers captured eight of the top 20 spots, finishing with a total of 38 points, 29 points ahead of second-place Susquehanna University.
Leading the way for the Bombers was freshman sensation Jenn Randall, who placed second overall in a time of 19:17 for the five-kilometer course. Following Randall was senior captain Amanda Boccio, who crossed the line in fifth, in just over 20 minutes. Also in the top 10 were senior Melanie McCormick and freshman Meghan Shanley, finishing ninth and 10th, respectively.
Rounding out the top seven and scoring for the Blue and Gold were sophomore Heidi Baumbach and junior Catherine Ortiz who finished back-to-back within one second of each other in 12th and 13th.
The South Hill squad’s next race is Saturday in Houghton, N.Y. at the Highlander Invitational. The Bombers will look to improve upon their third place finish from last year.
