Sophomore attack Nicole Borisenok led the Bombers in scoring with four goals in a 17–7 loss to Brockport on Tuesday. Freshman midfielder Tracy Rivas, senior attack Kylie McClure and freshman midfielder Michelle Avery scored the other three goals, respectively.
Brockport dominated the matchup, outshooting the Bombers 30–19 and gathering 23 ground balls to Ithaca’s eight.
Senior Courtney Dowell and freshman Jessica Worthman each played a half in goal, with Dowell making six saves and Worthman three.
The South Hill squad was back in action yesterday when it faced off against Mount Holyoke College. The Bombers evened up their record to 1–1 with a 14–6 win.
It was a game of runs, with the Bombers facing an early 2–1 deficit before scoring five unanswered goals in 10 minutes. Hurley scored three and Borisenok chipped in with two on the first half run. The Lyons opened up the second half scoring three out of the first four goals to cut the Ithaca lead to 10–6. The Bombers came back with another four-goal run to earn their first victory of the 2010 season.
Hurley led the team in points with five. McClure and Borisenok finished the game with three goals each.
Dowell made the start in goal and earned the win with six saves, while Worthman entered with 20:54 remaining and did not give up a goal.
Ithaca takes the field for its next game Monday at Buffalo State College.
