Revenge was on the South Hill squad’s mind as Oneonta beat the Bombers last year handily 4–0, a game that the team would not forget.
“After last year’s game, we definitely wanted to prove ourselves,” sophomore goalkeeper Alyssa Sotomayor said. “A 3–0 victory was just what we wanted.”
Sotomayor played all 90 minutes of the game, recording four saves on the way to her second shutout of the season.
In addition to stellar goalkeeping, The South Hill squad’s dynamic offense led the way. Junior forward Winnie Adrien kept her point streak going as she scored two goals and recorded one assist. She now has five goals and three assists this season. Her 13 points have her tied for the team lead.
The Bombers will face a great challenge Saturday against Empire 8 foe Stevens Institute of Technology. Stevens is ranked 10th in the latest regional poll and have a 46-game home unbeaten streak. Ithaca holds a 33-game unbeaten streak in conference play.
One of these streaks will be broken at noon Saturday in Hoboken, N.J.
