Bombers reach draw with St. Lawrence
| Staff Writer
St. Lawrence though, was prepared for the powerful offense and defense of the Bombers. The Saints took the lead in the eighth minute of the game off a goal by St. Lawrence junior forward Megan Howard. That goal was the first goal allowed by the South Hill squad in 564 minutes and 46 seconds of play. The score remained 1–0 until senior Lauren Koppel scored with 2:53 left in regulation time. Neither team could find the net in two overtime periods, leading to the game resulting in a draw.
While the Blue and Gold’s streak came to an end there is another one that is still intact. The Bombers have not lost since their Sept. 13 match up with William Smith College – their only loss of the season. The South Hill squad’s record now stands at 9–1–2.
The next game for the Blue and Gold is at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Empire 8 rival St. John Fisher College at Carp Wood Field.
