Bombers continue four-game win streak in playoffs
| Staff Writer
The game remained a scoreless tie after two overtimes at Cozzens Field. The Blue and Gold won on a save by junior goalkeeper Jessica Platt off a shot from William Smith midfielder Chelsea England, following a score by junior forward Kelly Gannon in the fifth round of the shootout.
Ithaca held a 12–5 advantage in shots over William Smith and had six corner kicks to the Herons one. The game was fraught with fouls, as the Bombers had 16 of the game’s 30.
In the sudden death penalty kick period, senior forward and midfielder Amy Scheffer, graduate defender Lauren Koppel, freshman forward Julie Winn and forward Emily Mogk scored goals.
The South Hill squad will face the winner of the sectional semifinal between the University of Rochester and Rowan University. The site and time has yet to be determined.
