Women's swimming and diving team wins out at quad meet

The women’s swimming team defeated all three opponents Saturday at the Hamilton College quad meet, giving Head Coach Paula Miller her 200th career win as the Bombers’ head coach.

The Blue and Gold defeated Hamilton 177–63, Hartwick College 184–59 and SUNY-Geneseo 128–15.

The relay team of sophomore Missy Keesler, junior Becca Blazak, sophomore Cali DeSanto and junior Sheila Rhoades scored a win for the Bombers in the 400-yard medley relay.

Rhoades also picked up wins in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, while Keesler and Blazak won the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard breaststroke, respectively.

The Blue and Gold’s freshman class had a strong showing, with freshman Carly Jones taking the 200-yard individual medley and the relay team of freshmen Madi Sherry, Laura Goodwell and Lexi Brawer and sophomore Amanda Vitullo taking fourth in the 400-yard medley relay.

The diving team also fared well on Saturday. Senior Naomi Mark placed first in the 1-meter diving event. Mark and junior Emily Griffin also placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 3-meter diving event.

The Bombers will compete in the Don Richards Invitational Dec. 4 and 5 at Rochester Institute of Technology.
