Bombers win New Jersey Invitational

The women’s track and field team finished first at the New Jersey Invitational this past weekend.
Winning for the Bombers was junior Ali Spivak, who finished first in the pole vault with a height of 3.20 meters. Sophomore Lindsey Nadolski also finished first in the 10,000-meter run. In addition, sophomore Kasey Currier won the 5,000-meter run and qualified for ECACs.
Sophomore Lauren Koppel won the 100-meter hurdles and qualified for ECACs with a time of 15.49 seconds. She also placed second in the javelin. Also qualifying was junior Melissa Blitzstein in the discus with a distance of 35.26 meters. Blitzstein also finished eighth in the hammer throw and third in the shot put.
Freshman Lindsay Pehmoeller notched a sixth-place finish in the discus, a third-place finish in the hammer throw and a 12th-place finish in the shot put. In the high jump, Alison Siderko finished fourth with a height of 1.51 meters.
Junior Audrey Harkness tallied a third-place finish in the 800-meter run.
The next meet for the women’s track and field team will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Clinton, N.Y., at the Hamilton Open.
