The Bombers finished strong in several events and were led by freshman Marcia McCord, who won the 100-meter dash, the long jump and ran the last leg of the 100-meter relay. The rest of the relay team consisted of freshmen Laura Morehouse and Laura Gallup, and senior captain Leigh Klumpp.
Morehouse and Klumpp both also placed in the 200-meter dash, placing first and third, respectively. Sophomore Sarah Bennett also turned in a solid day of events, while showing her versatility in winning the triple jump, placing third in the high jump and also competing in the 100-meter hurdles, which was won by freshman Kristen DeStefano.
The pole-vaulters did well also, led by senior captain Alison Spivak, who placed first with a final height of 3.10 meters.
The track and field team will be back in action at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Butterfield Stadium as the Bombers host the Empire 8 Championships.
