The women’s track and field team traveled south Saturday to Allentown, Pa., to compete in the Muhlenberg Invitational at Muhlenberg College. The Bombers won three events and recorded five ECAC Championship qualifying times. Because track events were hand timed, athletes in races up to and including 400 meters were not eligible to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Senior Lauren Koppel finished second and qualified for the ECAC Championship in the 100-meter hurdles. Senior Alison Siderko won the high jump. Sophomore Marcia McCord won the 100-meter dash, qualifying for ECACs in the process. Freshman Ashley Dlubac, who qualified for the NCAA Championships last week in the javelin at the Ithaca Invitational, qualified for ECACs and was the runner-up in the javelin.
The South Hill squad qualified for the ECAC Championships in two relay events. The 1,600 meter relay team won its event and the 400-meter relay team came in second.
The next meet for the Blue and Gold is at 10 a.m. April 11 at the New Jersey Invitational at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J.
