New Name, New Era
As some of you may have noticed, the blog’s name and banner design is different! This marks the start of a new direction for The Ithacan’s arts and entertainment blog. Kudos to former editor Andy Swift for making The Big Spoon such a great outlet for pop culture news, entertainment commentary and Christine Baranski sightings (for real, CB is uber-awesome).
I am beyond excited to officially have a new name and look. Here’s to the future, new stories, new ideas…and All That Jazz.
Letterman’s Sextortion Plot

Famous late-night talk show host David Letterman fessed up to some past baggage on the Late Show last night. After finding a package in the backseat of his car left by a person who claimed to have evidence that Letterman had sexual relations with members of his staff, the host decided to take action and bring what was once in the darkāinto the very public light.
In his testimony in front of a grand jury regarding the allegations, Letterman said “I had to tell them all of the creepy things that I had done … The creepy stuff was that I have had sex with women who work for me on this show.”
The individual who tried to extort $2 million from Letterman, a producer of the program 48 Hours, was arrested Thursday in a sting operation where Letterman arranged a meeting to give him a counterfeit check.
Regardless of whether he made personal choices in the past that have come back to haunt him, I still stand firm in my respect and admiration of David Letterman. Brush your shoulders off and continue to make us laugh, bud.
