On My List: Modern Family

I’ve heard from several people—people that I highly value the opinions of—and have come to the conclusion that I need to watch Modern Family on ABC. It sounds like my kind of humor and I can’t believe that up until this point I’ve neglected the inner urge and desire to Hulu the show. (Yes I used Hulu as a verb).
So I’ll take a look at the first episode sometime soon and clock in with you guys on my verdict. Who else watches this show? Is it worth an evening with Chinese Food and an hour of attention?
I always enter with high expectations.
So I watched two episodes of it last night and save for a few moments of laughter, I was—overall—not impressed. The premise of the show is nothing new and though it brings up important issues facing families today in a semi-comedic way, the show just seemed way too recycled.
I did, however, flip out a bit when I realized that was Jesse Tyler Ferguson from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee playing one of the gay dads. If I have more spare time, I might give it another chance, but for now, back to Glee for me. My Rating: C+
