Rover knocks back a cold one
In 1903, some dogs in a painting learned how to play poker. Now, in 2007, they?ve developed a new hobby: drinking. That?s right, a pet shop owner in the Netherlands has started brewing beer especially for dogs. She calls it ?Kwispelbier? which I?m pretty sure translates in English to ?best idea ever.? My Dutch is a little rusty, though.
I have to admit I was disappointed to learn that the beer is nonalcoholic because, honestly, I just don?t think dogs make enough bad decisions in their daily lives. Nothing would thrill me more than to walk downstairs and see the family dog sleeping next to the family cat. Regrets all around.
My favorite part about this doggy beer is that it costs roughly $2.14 per bottle, which is four times the price of a Heineken. So someone would pay all that money to watch their dog drink beer and not get drunk, when they could just watch their dog eat its own excrements for free. And, really, which one is more entertaining?
