Comments Policy
Comments posted to The Ithacan’s blogs are, first and foremost, the responsibility of the authors of those comments. Each comment author must sign his or her name and provide a valid e-mail address. Anonymous comments will not be allowed.
All comments will be screened before they are published to prevent spam and inappropriate comments.
We will delete comments before they are published if they are blatantly inflammatory, make personal attacks, contain excessive foul language or are completely off-topic. We will not delete comments that contain opinions we do not agree with; our blogs are meant to encourage healthy discussion.
Approving a comment is at the discretion of the blog author. Comments may also be removed after publication at the discretion of the editor in chief or online editor.
Comments may be automatically approved for returning commenters. Such functionality may be removed if a commenter violates our policy.
Posts written by any Ithacan staff member are the opinion of their respective authors and do not reflect the opinion of The Ithacan or any other member of its staff.
This policy may be updated periodically; if this policy changes, we will make the change publicly available on one of our blogs.
Latest policy update: Nov. 27, 2007.
