Okay, so I might have a strange mascot fetish, but this is just too funny. Check out Wilkes College first life-size mascot: the Colonel:
Okay seriously, how funny is that. Students were given the opportunity to “try-out” to be the mascot. I wonder what sort of freakish 8th grade cheer leading moves mixed with dangerous amounts of alcohol that entailed?

In other news, I wanted to send my best to Hanover College whose week long cancellation due to the remnants of Hurricane Ike has hindered the athletic schedule there. I hope all the athletes are hanging in there!
While we’re on bad news, the NCAA is reporting that costs for championship travel rose over 7% in the last year and 43% over the last three years. So that’s what all those tuition increases have been for.
