Whoever mentioned Lupe Fiasco needs to take a closer look at his music... There is definitely profanity there, though perhaps I have a tendency to be super-sensitive to bad language. I will admit, however, his music hits a nerve even, and perhaps especially, when he doesn't use bad language.

On the other hand, one does not need profanity to make a point in any type of music. There are upwards of 500,000 words in the english language alone. There's plenty of depth in language without profanity. If you're attuned to the actual meaning of the words, it can convey so much more than "f***" used as whatever part of speech you need. There are words just as shocking, insulting, accurate, and real that are not profane.

And if this particular artist didn't use profanity to "describe how hard the streets are" then obviously they didn't see it as a necessary part of the experience. This is /their/ world view not yours. That doesn't mean it's sanitized. It means they emphasized what they felt was important.

Simply put, step off.

They say gangsta rap is dying. I tend to disagree, it's just changing forms and merging with new styles. What we're doing is a prime example. Check out Kryptik - V.I.P Ft. Crooked I, just google it, I don't wanna spam a link. if far
