A Legacy of Service
Like the heading says, Ithaca College will be celebrating the legacy of service of President Peggy R. Williams today until about 5 p.m.
Williams will step down as president in May and will spend the 2008-09 year on sabbatical. She will retire in 2009.
When Williams was inaugurated president of the college in 1998, she held a day of events to promote community service. To celebrate her retirement, the Center for Student Leadership and Involvement, paired with several other campus groups, will do the same.
A Community Service and Social Justice Fair will be held until 3 p.m. on the Campus Center Quad. A celebration will be held immediately following, in which on-campus performance groups, faculty and staff will say formal farewells to the outgoing president.
Check theithacan.org tomorrow for multimedia coverage of this event.
