Women’s golf concludes record-setting season

By earning the Empire 8 Conference and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in its third season as a varsity sport, the women’s golf team turned a corner by taking down opponents it had consistently lost to in the past.

A peanut butter sandwich folded neatly in a napkin rests on freshman Sharon Li’s desk. She’s in a quiet, simple dorm room where the walls are surprisingly bare. The only pictures that hang are of her family from back home. Looking at the pictures, you would never know that Li’s home is 8,000 miles away.

With spring break approaching and students beginning to study for midterms, the members of the golf team are working to get into the swing of things themselves.

A swinging success

Despite this season being only the golf team’s second as an official varsity sport, there is nothing second-rate about the way the Blue and Gold have been playing.

While most freshmen are busy hitting the textbooks to keep up with the workload of college classes, freshman Amanda Failla is busy with a different type of book.
