Bombers’ depth makes up for multiple injuries

Women’s crew finished up the regular season against boats from four other schools yesterday in Pittsfield, Mass. The Bombers’ third varsity boat set the tone, posting a first-place finish against Williams College.
Women’s crew remained unbeaten in varsity races this season, beating out St. Lawrence University and Skidmore College yesterday. The first, second and third varsity 8 boats for the Blue and Gold all won their respective races, with the first varsity 8 competing against another nationally ranked opponent in No. 7 St. Lawrence.
Women’s varsity crew had another strong showing early in the season, winning three races, against Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester Saturday at the Cayuga Inlet.
For the women’s crew first varsity 8 boat, finding rhythm and synchronization in its stroke, aside from holding a firm grip on the oars, is structured around catch and release.
