IC Office wins Ithaca College SGA Election in uncontested race

Running unopposed, IC Office won as the sole ticket in the 2016–17 Ithaca College Student Government Association Executive Board election.

IC Office received 90.35 percent of the 518 votes cast. Just over 9 percent of voters voted no confidence in the ticket. Last year, less than 1 percent of voters voted no confidence in the election, with IC*NSYNC running against four other tickets.

Turnout for the election decreased by more than half from the past two years. In 2014–15, 1,224 votes were cast among the three tickets, with 19 percent of the student body voting. In 2015–16, 1,247 votes were cast, which was 20 percent of the student body. This year, with one ticket, 518 votes were cast, making up 8 percent of the student body.

Members of the IC Office ticket are sophomore Marieme Foote as student body president, sophomore Luis Torres as vice president of campus affairs, sophomore Dani Weinstein as vice president of communications, sophomore Michele Hau as vice president of academic affairs and freshman Ezeka Allen as vice president of of business and finance.

In the senior class executive board race, the Swipe Right for Senior Year ticket won over Senior Year No Regrets. Swipe Right for Senior Year received 64 percent of the 345 votes cast, with junior Ciara Lucas elected as the senior class president.
