There was celebration in Higgins Stadium as the Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team took down the Bard College Raptors 19–1 to secure the Liberty League regular season championship on a sweet Senior Day April 20. This marks a crucial step in the Bombers’ chase for a Liberty League title.
The No. 13 Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team has done it yet again. The Bombers rained dominant over the Vassar College Brewers in a Liberty League matchup April 19 with a score of 18–3.
The Ithaca College lacrosse team was able to do something the football team could not this academic year – defeat the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. The Bombers were able to leave Higgins Stadium victorious, 12–11, clinging to victory as the two teams battled down to the wire.
The Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team could not pick up any momentum against one of the best defenses in the Liberty League, falling well short to the No. 4 St. Lawrence University Saints 15–4 on April 13, putting them in the bottom of the Liberty League standings.
The Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team took home yet another key Liberty League win on April 13 against the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers. The Bombers swept up the Engineers in a 20–5 win during one of the rainiest games they may have had yet this season.
The Bombers fourth-quarter comeback bid came to no avail as the No. 3 Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers held on to defeat the Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team 16–10 on April 10.
It was definitely a great day to be a Bomber as the No. 18 ranked Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team absolutely crushed the current No. 2 ranked team in the country, the William Smith College Herons, in a decisive 16–3 victory.
Higgins Stadium was packed for a Liberty League matchup between Ithaca College women’s lacrosse and Union College on March 30. Luckily, the Bombers avenged a loss from last season and dominated the game to achieve an 11–9 victory.
The Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team’s second half comeback bid fell short to the undefeated and No. 2 ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers, who came up 10–9 against the Bombers on March 30.
The Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team returned to Higgins Stadium Feb. 25 for the first game of their 2024 season. After a fierce competition against the University of Scranton Royals, the Bombers took home their first win after defeating the Royals 13–9 to give them a 1–0 start on the season.
Coming off a 2020 that halted all fall sports, the Ithaca College field hockey program has earned back-to-back trips to the Liberty League playoffs the past two seasons. However, there is one thing that is still missing: a Liberty League Championship.
