Sports media students share deep connection with Cornell

Over the years at the Roy H. Park School of Communications, many sports media students have gained experience in the field by covering the Ithaca College sports teams. However, some have had the opportunity to take their craft to the Division I level.

This week on 'How IC Sports,' host junior David Schurter interviews junior journalism major and women's track sprinter Carolina Cedraschi. The two discuss Cedraschi's experience producing a documentary last spring on mental health in althetes and as a producer at ICTV.
Auditions for IC Unbound Dance Company, a student-led dance group, were held Aug. 3 in the Fitness Center. Students of all years came together for all styles of dance, learning the combinations just minutes before their auditions.

Lights, cameras, action! Audition season sweeps Ithaca with full force

In mid-to-late August, audition season starts in full force across Ithaca College. During the beginning of each fall semester, students prepare for auditions throughout the Dillingham Center, the Roy H. Park School of Communications and in dorms for a wide plethora of open spots in a cappella and dance groups, ICTV shows, plays and music ensembles.

Bombers reclaim the Cortaca Jug in front of 40,232 fans

When the clock hit zero at the end of the fourth quarter, the Bombers had come out on top for the 38th time in the rivalry’s history with a 34–17 win at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
The 2022 Cortaca Jug game, held at Yankee Stadium, will be broadcast on YES Network, according to statements by Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland.

Ithaca College announced that the 2022 Cortaca Jug game will be broadcast live on YES Network. In addition, the game will be moved up from 1 p.m. to noon Nov. 12.
Ithaca College’s student-run television and radio stations, including ICTV,  WICB and VIC Radio, were given awards in multiple categories of the New York State Broadcasters Associations annual Excellence in Broadcasting Awards competition.

ICTV, WICB and VIC Radio, were given many awards in the NY State Broadcasters Association's annual Excellence in Broadcasting Awards competition.
Senior Manny Sanchez, captain of the IC Blue League of Legends team, said the team has been unable to use the esports room at the college this year because of scheduling difficulties. Instead, the team practices virtually, using online chat apps to communicate.

Jack Powers, Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School interim dean, announced his support of the IATSE on Sept. 27 on the Park School of Communications Instagram account. IATSE was founded in 1893 when stagehand representatives met in New York City and pledged to support fair wages and working conditions for all of their members.
