In an Oct. 12 email to the campus community, Cornish said a student reported a swastika etched into the metal inside the Baker Walkway elevator in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.

President La Jerne Cornish said the symbol has been on the door since August 2021 and was not reported until Oct. 6.

The Ithaca College campus community was notified via email Oct. 7 that a swastika was scratched onto the door of a Kosher Kitchen storage room in the Terrace Dining Hall.
Following the discovery of the first swastika in Baker Walkway, Interim President La Jerne Cornish sent an email to the campus community condemning the symbol Feb 4. After the second swastika was found in Whalen, the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management sent out an alert Feb. 8 to the campus community.

On Feb. 3, a swastika was discovered drawn onto the condensation of a window in Ithaca College’s Baker Hallway.
Between July 1 and Sept. 20, Public Safety has responded to a total of 12 mental hygiene calls, meaning students experiencing a potential mental health crisis, and 11 welfare checks, where students want to check on peers who they are concerned about.

In an April 12 email to the college community, the college stated that some students have received phone calls from an unknown number stating that the college is concerned by the number of green boxes — the to-go containers used for dining — that they are taking.

The Office of Public Safety at Ithaca College released a message to campus April 3 concerning druggings that occurred at local bars over the weekend.
The accident, which occurred the morning of March 21, is being investigated by the New York State Police.
