Residents of West Tower are now able to return to their rooms following flooding that occurred Nov. 30. The flooding was caused by a student breaking a fire sprinkler in the building.

Flooding occurs in West Tower

The tenth floor of West Tower at Ithaca College flooded on the afternoon of Nov. 30 because of an activated fire sprinkler.

Ithaca College RAs receive less pay compared to other colleges

Ithaca College resident assistants are not satisfied with the compensation they receive based on their job duties and workload. RAs at the college receive less compensation than RAs who work at other similar-sized private institutions.
Ronald Trunzo, associate director of the Office of Residential Life and associate director of the Office of Judicial Affairs, said roommate conflicts are a common occurrence.

Standing in the cold for four hours was not how now-senior Nolan Elias planned his night to end one day in late October 2013. After being asked to leave his dorm, he spent his night wandering campus trying to find a place to sleep.
Students who live in the Sustainability Community, now known as the Organic Gardening and Cooking Community, cook food from the organic gardens on campus, including the one on the roof of Terrace Dining Hall that was planted in the Fall.

IC students to revitalize Terrace Dining Hall rooftop gardens

Students and faculty have teamed with the Office of Residential Life and the Office of Facilities at Ithaca College to revitalize the rooftop of the Terrace Dining Hall with possible micro-gardens, artwork and other decorations.
Freshman Brooke Ent is one of a number of Ithaca College students who are paying for college on their own. Ent said she is planning on continuing her education in Germany, where higher education is tuition-free.

Ithaca College students pay for education without parents’ help

Jonathon Cummings, class of 2015 senator, circulated a survey among Resident Assistants at the  college from Feb. 6–16. He then presented the results to Bonnie Prunty, director of residential life.

Res Life implements resident assistant advisory council
