At the end of our first week in Aix-en-Provence, we all went on a weekend trip to Nice and Monaco. We left Aix early on Saturday morning and bussed for four hours to Nice. There, we split into groups and explored the city.
The first stop for my group was the market in “old Nice”. It was a short walk from the beach and had an amazing selection of fresh food, flowers, and souvenirs.
Next we went to the beach and although it was cold, everyone dipped their feet in the water. This was the first time most of us had ever been to the Mediterranean Sea. It was such a beautiful blue! Clearly, the Côte d’Azur (the Azure Coast) deserves its name.
Finally, my group climbed up to an overlook point to get a great view of the seaside city before returning to the buses.
