Board of Trustees grants Dana and emerita status

The virtual open-conversation session was led by David Lissy ’87, chair of the board of trustees, and James Nolan ’77, vice chair of the board of trustees. About 55 people attended the event.

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees designated two faculty members as Dana professors, promoted 14 faculty members from assistant to associate professors with tenure and granted 25 retired faculty members emerita status at the February 2022 meeting.

Title of Dana professor is awarded to faculty who are ranked as full professors and have made significant contributions in teaching, scholarship and service.

Jennifer Jolly, Dana professor in the Department of Art History.

Cyndy Scheibe, Dana professor in the Department of Psychology.

To be promoted from assistant to associate professor, the professor must have: a sustained record of teaching excellence, evidence of significant scholarly or appropriate professional attainment and evidence of service to the college and profession.

Margaret Shackell, associate professor in the Department of Accounting and Business Law.

Tim Mirabito, associate professor in the Department of Journalism.

Rhonda Vanover, associate professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences and Studies.

Yvette Sterbenk, associate professor in the Department of Strategic Communication.

Jenna Heffron, associate chair and associate professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy.

Mike Costello, associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy.

Karen Lomond, associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy.

Tamara Fitzwater, associate professor in the Department of Psychology.
