Clearly, this is something no one wants to see happen. Shared governance can be achieved. The college is just making it more difficult.
The hills that Ithaca College and Cornell University sit on distance students from the community not only physically but psychologically as well.
The campus community desperately wants to trust the administration while it is making drastic changes to the college.
This election will affect students for years to come, and it is imperative that young adults vote if they want to have a say in their future.
Throughout the years, different groups have siloed themselves from one another on all levels. Students typically stay within their respective schools.
The administration is disingenuously making it seem like everything is under control and going according to plan.
Ultimately, CAPS is taking efforts to ensure that mental health support is equitable for all students.
However, these events are not beneficial if they exist in a vacuum. Students of color should not be the only ones attending these meetings.
Why must the college be called out in a public forum for it to recognize that campus is not a safe and inclusive space for all?
Even if some of this information is being discussed in faculty meetings, it is insulting to students that they are not aware of this information.
Overall, the college is taking measures to ensure the safety of the campus community. The COVID-19 dashboard is a necessary resource.
