On a high note

At the end of every academic year, The Ithacan recognizes graduating students for their outstanding contributions to the college community.

The deans of the six schools were approached by The Ithacan and recommended the seniors featured in the “Standout Seniors” series.

The series began with a profile of Maggie Burgess, a speech-language pathology major, who was commended not only for her academic excellence, but also for her volunteer work in town.

Joe Fraioli, a sociology and psychology major, revived the college’s chapter of Active Minds, a national organization that promotes mental health awareness, and has dedicated his time on campus researching autism. This week, Luke Elmers, an integrated marketing communications major, is featured for being a master multitasker, excelling at each skill, whether that be advertising or making balloon animals.

In the next three weeks seniors Kasey Stevenson, Allison Walker and Elena Galvan will also be featured. The series is a nod to the individual efforts of the college’s outstanding students, who every day work to make the world and this campus a better place.

The Ithacan congratulates these seniors on their achievements and urges the campus to follow their examples of leadership and service to the college.
